We purchased this Samsung 55″ Curved Screen 4K UHD Smart TV as an upgrade over our 42″ Flat by another manufacturer as our main living room TV. It arrived custom-packaged presumably at the factory and was appropriate given the contents. All appeared flawless upon inspection after unpacking. The contents included two legs which can be installed for setting the TV upon a flat surface however, we opted to hang this on the wall using a TV wall-mount bracket by another manufacturer. The result was a customized viewing height and angle with adjustment while freeing up the entire top surface of our TV stand. After attaching the power cord and plugging the TV into the duplex wall outlet, the TV powered right up via the remote (Note you will have to install the included batteries into the remote first). The first thing we did was to connect the TV to our home’s 5GHz WiFi which the TV will prompt when first powering on. This took long enough for me to remember the wifi password and then enter it using the TV’s remote.Once connected to the wifi, you can access the main guide screen. You will notice there are many apps already installed including Netflix, Prime TV, and Hulu to name a few. You can also download additional desired apps if you don’t see it in the preinstalled ones with your Samsung Account. You can even connect the TV to you Samsung Account through your cell phone if you already have an account. You can customize your view and sound settings the way you like using the remote as well along some other features like parental controls. There is also a Voice prompt option at the click of a button which we are still experimenting but so far seems like it could add a level of «hands-free» convenience. You can further customize your TV by adding a sound bar which is something we are seriously contemplating and likely will eventually add in the near future. There are also multiple HDMI and USB connections for your favorite gaming system or other external device. The picture with the curved screen seems to add a clarity and depth that we simply did not have with an HD flat screen TV. I admit this may be more evident for us as this was a big upgrade over our 10 year old 42″ 1080P flat screen TV. Still we are loving it and are happy with this purchase.

Wow, i’m going from 2015 Samsung 55″ to this 2019 Samsung 65″ Curve, picture quality and motion rate and the UHD 4K quality makes a huge difference. Samsung hasn’t changed their remotes much…lol, but picture quality + curve makes it come to life. I Highly recommend this product, don’t waster your money on those expensive QLEDs, this curve is just as good. My brother bought a QLED and I don’t see much difference.

I don’t usually write reviews but I’m amazed that nobody mentioned the all the preinstalled apps (bloatware) that you can’t delete off this TV. This TV is more of an advertising medium for Samsung rather than a Smart TV. When you first turn the TV on, it just starts playing some horrible, built in channel not always appropriate for kids viewing in very low resolution. See below for some tips I learned to at least minimize the amount and visibility of the bloatware. When you hit the main menu, there is a Samsung advertisement in the #1 slot always. The #2 slot is also some lame Samsung «TV+» with a hundred free channels that you will probably never use. Neither of these can be deleted or moved. When I went to change the order of the apps displayed in the menu with the app we actually use it worked but then Samsung reordered them when I turned TV off and on again. They reordered with the crappy apps they are paid to promote. These preinstalled apps cannot be deleted. So the DisneyPlus I just added for the kids in in the #16 slot and we have to scroll way to the right to get to.Update Day 2 and Important Tip: Right from the main menu I was able to at least remove the apps I didn’t want from the bottom Nav Menu bar by hitting down arrow on each app and removing or moving (they are still on your TV though) . I will update post if Samsung reorders again. Important – The lame Samsung Live TV app in the #3 slot cannot be removed. Samsung will just put it back in the menu when you turn TV off and on again. So just keep it in the Menu and move it all the way to the right. See pic below.Another Tip for some privacy is to Go into Settings–>Support and Go through each Privacy policy and uncheck as many Ad tracking agreements as you can. After that reset your PSID so Samsung and affiliates can’t further track you.The Remote also has Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu hard coded buttons. We use the first two but have no interest in Hulu. So basically a wasted button on the remote that could easily be reprogrammed to open an app you actually use. Another fail with the remote is the select button. It is too similar to the arrow buttons on every side of it so I often found myself looking down to make sure I pressed the correct button. If Samsung just installed the bloatware and let you control your own experience by deleting them, then I’d just see it as a minor inconvenience. The fact that they force feed what apps you can have AND the order they appear with ads in your TV in 2019 is absurd. If they don’t reorder my apps in menu then it’s only a minor inconvenience. If they reset it again, then it will be a huge hassle. The pros of this TV are that the picture is fine and the price is cheap. I also like the curved display for better viewing at different angles. The TV is heavier than I’d like but curved TV’s usually weigh more.I’ve already got it mounted on wall and picture is fine so I’m not going to return. But, every time I turn on the TV and it streams content from a channel I didn’t choose and see the ads as the first menu item as I scroll to the right to find the streaming service I want, my opinion of Samsung as a brand will keep going down.As I said, TV itself and pic quality are fine and but I will definitely not buy a Samsung TV again (or any product for that matter). Samsung business model is clearly to make most of their money from business partnerships that do not benefit the customer. It is laughable how they force feed terrible content and their own «TV+» on you, not realizing that people have been there and done that with PC bloatware in the 1990’s.
